Seminary Student Services Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

The Seminary Student Services Assistant will work directly with the Seminary Enrollment Services Coordinator to help increase our seminary enrollment and particpate in student life initiatives.

Note: This is an 8 hours/week, 6-month term position (January 2023 – June 2023)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Agreement to live within the Briercrest Institutional Covenant and align with the mission, vision, and values of Briercrest College and Seminary
  • An active student currently enrolled in Briercrest Seminary with a good standing
  • A passionate supporter of the education and community experience offered by Briercrest
  • An engaging personality that works well with others
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • A willingness to learn, adapt and remain flexible.
  • Proficient use of computer software and web-based applications
  • The ability to travel and a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • A clean criminal record as verified by a criminal record’s check

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Commit to a mutually agreed upon weekly schedule of 8 hours
  • Work alongside the Seminary Enrollment Services Coordinator
  • Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to, data entry, document filing, emailing, scheduling and phone calling
  • Sending a reminder email to all applicants once a week (2 hours/week)
  • Participate in various recruitment team events such as Campus Tours and Youth Quake
  • Participate in student life (retention focus) in three main ways (2 hours/week)
    • Monday morning coffee (9:15-10:30): set-up, clean-up, and interaction with students
    • Thursday Seminary Spotlight and soup lunch (11:15-1): set-up, clean-up and interaction with students
    • Initiate contact with students (email, phone, in person) to answer any questions they have, ask about their level of satisfaction, and offer to pray with them (2 hours/ week)
    • May include travel to Regina for airport transfers
  • Participate in student recruiting in through (2 hours/ week)
    • Reactive recruitment by responding to inquiries and the priority list as provided by the recruitment department
    • Occasional travel opportunities to represent the Seminary may be offered as well

TEAM RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Seminary Enrollment Services Coordinator
  • Will work as needed with all of the Seminary Program Coordinators
