Creative Writing Workshop

Background

I grew up in Southern California and Eastern Washington. After studying literature at Dartmouth College, I taught high school English. During these formational years, God opened my eyes to the manifold ways the arts illuminate the beauty and mystery of Jesus. Desiring to explore this beauty further, I pursued both master’s and doctoral work at the intersection of theology and literature. Near the end of my PhD, I reconnected with an old college friend, Daniel Stulac, whom I married in 2018. Over the next five years, we had two daughters (Abigail and Susannah), and I worked as a program director at Duke Divinity School. In 2021, our family moved to Caronport, where Daniel teaches Old Testament, and I classically educate our girls at home. When we’re not singing Latin noun declensions in silly opera voices, we love to sink into a comfy chair with a good picture book (preferably while eating Daniel’s homemade brownies).
