Background

I grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as the son of American Baptist missionaries, and then worked in that same country with my wife Susan from 1982 to 1996. We have four children, all born during the years that we were working in Congo. Our kids are all married now, and we have seven wonderful grandchildren.

After our years of full-time ministry in Congo, I went on to do a PhD in Intercultural Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and then taught missions courses at Briercrest College for 10 years. During those years, and on down to the present, I have also had the privilege of returning to eastern Congo for a month or two at a time about once a year to teach at Shalom University in the town of Bunia.

Susan and I are currently retired, and living in Redcliff, AB.
