Celebrating a Successful Tour

Posted: May 27, 2015

For two weeks this past April-May, I had the privilege of recording and traveling with Awaken, Briercrest’s worship ministry team, for our spring tour across Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The first week after graduation we were able to record most of our songs (for the experience and as a record of our work) as well as to travel locally. In Moose Jaw we were able to join a Tuesday night youth event, mingled with guests, and lead in worship during the evening. The Swift Current Church of God also invited us to lead at their monthly city-wide worship night. These were significant opportunities to join in with what God is doing close to home and they set the stage for what would be a very encouraging tour.

Our next stop was Moosomin, SK, and we were delighted to see and hear what the Lord is doing at Moosomin Baptist Church, especially as we led a workshop on worship for their youth and then joined them in the evening leading worship at their 30-hour famine event. This was a highlight of our tour and clearly God-ordained. Throughout the rest of the tour we had the opportunity to minister in churches and schools in Winkler, Gretna, Winnipeg, Steinbach, Portage la Prairie, and Brandon. We made some remarkably significant connections, encouraging and being encouraged by those with whom we came into contact. Michelle Ernst from the Enrolment Department was also able to join us for the last 10 days of the tour, giving her the opportunity to have important interactions with a number of potential students.

I was encouraged by the faithfulness and positive attitudes of each member of the wdr3 swr2 team as we had a full schedule. In the midst of some long days, as well as times of relaxation and rest, we saw the hand of God at work and were blessed to have been used by him to equip and encourage the body of Christ in each place we visited.
