Saturday saw the Briercrest Clippers and Red Deer Kings facing off for the second time this weekend after Red Deer defeated Briercrest in five sets on Friday.

After a tight game and disappointing loss last night, the Clippers sought a new outcome. Briercrest was able to take the lead for the first few points, but Red Deer soon claimed the lead from the Clippers. The Kings continued to open their lead, leaving the Clippers trailing 14-7. But Briercrest found their rhythm and began to fight back, forcing a Red Deer timeout at 16-13 for the Kings. The battle continued until Briercrest pulled even at 21 points, and then a heated point-for-point exchange began with a timeout for Red Deer at 24-23 and for Briercrest at 25-25 until Briercrest was able to pull ahead 27-25.

Both teams entered the second with determination – Briercrest looking to build their momentum and Red Deer seeking to end it. The two teams battled back and forth, coming to a tie at 10-10 and then 14's. However, Briercrest then began to open the gap in the score, forcing Red Deer timeouts at 17-15 and 21-15. The Kings did their best to mount a counterattack but were not able to overcome the lead that Briercrest had created, losing the set 25-20 to the Clippers.

Briercrest took a commanding start to the third, forcing an early Red Deer timeout at 9-4. The Clippers continued their advance, building their lead 12-6. Red Deer continued to battle back, but the deficit was too great to overcome, and the Clippers won the set 25-20 and took the game in three.

Presenting the Player of the Game award was Briercrest men's volleyball alumnus Mitch Erickson. Red Deer's Player of the Game was Dillon Gauci, who had 7 kills and 2 aces. Player of the Game for Briercrest went to middle Javier Alvarez, who had 1 kill, 6 digs, 4 blocks, and 1 ace. Alvarez commented that "the boys are doing great this year, we showed good character in our second game after a tough loss Friday night. Excited to see our team having success and building a closer relationship with our Lord."
