Women sweep the Kodiaks

The Women’s volleyball team took on the Lethbridge Kodiaks on Saturday November 16 in a rematch. The Women’s team won yet again sweeping the weekend.

Starting the first set, Briercrest caught fire fast, mid way through the set the Clippers led with a 16- 10 lead. A big contribution in this set was #10 Mikayla Benterud with 7 aces in the first set alone. Briercrest won the first set 25-13.

In the second set, Briercrest got ahead 15-10 gaining the drive picked up in the first set. Like the first set the Clippers stole the set yet again. The score was 25-16 to end off the second set.

In what would be the last set, both teams came in neck and neck midway through at 14-14. It was a close match, coming down to 24-24, but Briercrest pulled ahead winning the set 26-24 and ultimately the match. Making for a Clippers victory.  The final scores were 25-13 / 25-16 / 26-24.

Player of the game for the Clippers was #16 Kelsey Wiebe attaining 4 aces, 7 kills, 4 aces and 3 digs. And for the Kodiaks #14 Sarah Hazen was player of the game with 5 digs and 1 assist.

“I think that we really put pressure on them with our serves. We came out firing and stayed really focused throughout it. And we just really had a good time supporting eachother.” – #16 Kelsey Wiebe
